DogWorld is not a rigid trade fair programme – it is a curated experience.
Content, formats and timings are carefully developed and coordinated – always with animal welfare, quality and relevance in mind.
Our programme follows one principle: animal welfare before showmanship.
The well-being of dogs is close to our hearts. With DogsFirst 15 measures ensure safety, care and an experience that is as stress-free as possible – for dogs and their people.
The Tierschutzverein München (Munich Animal Welfare Society) is on board as “chief supervisor”. Every dog is checked by a vet before the DackelRace, and Tierrettung München provides the animal emergency service on both days.
Together with the Hundetherapiezentrum München (dog therapy centre), we have created training videos for strong backs in dachshunds and small dogs – watch them on TikTok, Instagram and Facebook.
Fresh water dispensers for dogs are available across the whole site. In addition, the toilets in all halls have fresh water for refilling your own bottles.
There is a backstage rest area for the DackelRace teams. Visitors can relax with their dogs in the soundproof rooms Stellwerk 1 and Stellwerk 2.
There is a health check before dogs are admitted to the DackelRace. The vet’s room at the DackelRace check-in is always staffed. The veterinary emergency service of Tierrettung München e.V. is ready all weekend at the heart of the Lokhalle. If there’s a little accident – don’t scold, just wipe it up. A basket with cleaning supplies is sure to be close by.
No separate lanes, but a secured running area 8 metres wide and 40 metres long. Dogs that want to run, run. Dogs that would rather play may play. Nothing is compulsory.
The site is planned so that people with dogs on a lead can get around everywhere easily and safely.
There is a large, marked area in the outdoor grounds where dogs can relieve themselves. Poop bags are provided.
A course for dogs of all sizes with three different tracks. The therapists of the HTZ Hundetherapiezentrum show how mobility and health can be supported with simple things you already have at home. The dog school Freude am Hund shows how to keep dogs mentally fit and engaged in a healthy way.
To protect everyone, dogs on site need a valid rabies vaccination – please bring the EU pet passport. Puppies can be vaccinated at twelve weeks at the earliest, and protection only takes effect 21 days later. This is why dogs can only visit DogWorld from the age of 15 weeks; please leave younger puppies at home.
Large dogs (knee height and above) may not enter the Dampfdom (with the race track). They can follow the race from the second floor – reachable by lift or stairs. Because of their claws, please do not take large dogs on the escalators – please carry small dogs.
For the safety of all visitors and canine guests, only dogs with good social behaviour are welcome on site. The DogSecurity team is out and about for you – contact them if you feel you need help, or go to the reception desk at the main entrance.
Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times across the whole site. The only exception: the dachshunds racing on the blue carpet in the Dampfdom.
Free workshops and expert panels provide information on canine welfare, torture breeding, animal protection and prevention.
Qualified dog trainers from Tierschutzverein München e.V. look after dogs and their people across the site and in the halls – so that incidents don’t happen in the first place.
For some dogs it is better to spend a few hours at home in familiar care rather than join an exciting event.
Our shared goal: a safe, respectful and relaxed visit for people and dogs.
